What spunk & character! #India #Bombay #Mumbai This man was just awesome… in Dhobi Ghats in Mumbai he was busy ironing in his undies. When I asked to take his image and put the camera to my eye I never expected the shot I got! Boy did we laugh!

You know when you see a person for the first time & you just know/ feel there is something different about them that runs deep to the soul. I found that in Udaipur, India : we sat, smiled & much was exchanged. #women #india #beauty #soul #udaipur #blue #deepeyes #eyes

Educating & Advocating for Menstrual Health in Rwanda : #SHE #menstrualhealth #advocacy #education #womenseducation #MHM

Photo 1 & 2: Students in a rural school in Rwanda get to look at a tampon for the first time as part of an education & advocacy campaign.

Photo 4: A young boy proudly comes to show his classmates what he has leant about the diva cup.

Last week I spent a some time with the Sustainable Health Enterprises (SHE) team in Rwanda. They are about to go into production of low cost sanitary pads made from banana fibres which will be affordable for girls and women in rural areas of Rwanda. This is going to make a huge impact on communities with women being able to work when they have their menstrual cycle and also helping girls stay in school. However, advocacy for the need of funding for products and menstrual health to be included in schools curriculum is equally as important. I spent time with the SHE team visiting local schools and a Refugee camp spreading important information and answering questions related to menstruation. It was amazing to hear the questions from both boys & girls, men & women, and the lack of understanding/knowledge around menstrual health. The SHE team are doing amazing work which will give girls chance for a better education by breaking taboos and myths around menstruation, educating them on menstrual health management and aiding them in not missing school during their menstrual cycle.
